Since enrolling at the University of Florida in 2008, Summer Lubart has achieved academic success while enthusiastically participating in a number of activities on campus.
Summer majors in political science with minors in public leadership, non-profit organizations, and communication studies. Even with her heavy course load, she maintains a 3.98 GPA. Her drive and dedication have resulted in her earning dean’s list recognition for each of her seven semesters at the school. In Fall 2010, she was named an Anderson Scholar with Highest Distinction for holding a 4.0 GPA for five semesters. This award is the highest academic achievement at UF’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
During college, Summer participated in the Miss University of Florida Pageant, an official affiliate of the Miss America organization. She was the third runner-up and the overall winner of the talent competition with her vocal performance. Among other activities at UF, she served as Student Senate Chairwoman for Rules & Ethics, which required her to lead over 100 student senators in weekly meetings and manage $16.7 million.
